Best Spring Walks 2015
The Times have published their list of the best spring walks for 2015.
1. Lynmouth, Watersmeet and Countisbury, Devon
How hard is it? 5½ miles; a tough-ish walk with steps, slopes, climbs, clifftops.
Looking at picture-perfect Lynmouth today, you’d never guess that the north Devon coastal town was smashed to pieces with great loss of life by a flood in 1952. The culprit, the East Lyn River, winds gently through the woods from Watersmeet, a famed beauty spot. Return from Countisbury along the cliffs, with spectacular views.
